CMA Stage 1 Woodworking Classes (AGES 8+)

Welcome to the beginner’s woodworking course for CMA students ages 8 & up! (tools will be supplied during class) Different projects but working on the same skills as last semester.
This is an 8 week course. Tuition is to be paid in full for the entire 8 week course here on our website. Classes start January 26th

Woodworking is an excellent skill for kids to learn because it encourages creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Working with wood helps build fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while teaching patience and attention to detail. It fosters a sense of accomplishment as children see their ideas take shape into tangible projects. Additionally, woodworking introduces basic math and measurement concepts in a practical way. It also promotes safety awareness and responsibility through the careful use of tools. Overall, woodworking can boost confidence and provide a productive, screen-free activity that nurtures both cognitive and physical development.
In this class your student will learn:
safe use of basic hand tools
measuring and marking wood accurately
understanding simple joinery (butt joints, dowels, glue joints)
sanding and finishing techniques
building real projects they can take home
